Metastatic bone disease develops from cancer that arises at one location (i.e. lung, breast, prostate, etc.) and spreads to bone. These metastatic cancers present as tumors of bone that can cause severe pain, bone and joint degradation, limit movement, and have a deleterious effect on the general quality of life for the patient.
